American Journal Experts (AJE) helps solve my English language problems. AJE is punctual, reliable and price conscious. For paper editing, I recommend AJE to ensure papers are written in proper English.

Research Topics
My research topics fall under the
study of non steady-state diagenetic processes in coastal marine
sediments. I am interested in early diagenetic reactions and elemental
cycling involving the decomposition of organic matter, dissolution of
inorganic biogenic debris, and the behavior and fate of metals
sensitive to oxidation-reduction conditions. These reactions are the
most intense in the upper few centimeters of marine sediments where,
for example, benthic fauna lives and interacts with sediments. The
sediment-water interface plays a major role because of the occurrence
of intense and variable exchanges of dissolved material between
sediment and overlying water. A better knowledge of early diagenetic
processes occurring in this zone is therefore essential for
understanding elemental cycling in marine sediments. I have a huge
interest for the alternative pathways of nitrogen cycle (anaerobic
production of nitrate, anammox) and for the effects of sedimentary
heterogeneity on the chemistry of marine sediments. My work is
different from the former studies on early diagenesis by the attention
very particular on its non steady-state nature caused by transient
phenomena at different time and spatial scales (e.g. bloom, flood,
tidal cycle), and specially at the scales of sedimentary
microenvironments resulting mainly from the activity and diversity of
the benthic fauna (i.e. bioturbation).
My students and I are currently studying non steady-state diagenetic
processes in a variety of coastal marine sediments including Arcachon
Lagoon and Mediterranean (France), Thames estuary (UK), and Saguenay
fjord (Quebec, Canada).
We have past and ongoing projects with the following IPGP members, Eric
Viollier, Didier Jézéquel, and François Prévot, as well as with
colleagues from other universities including Antoine Grémare (Univ. of
Bordeaux 1), Pierre Anstchutz (Univ. of Bordeaux 1), Jean-Claude
Duchêne (CNRS Banyuls sur mer) , Edouard Metzger (Univ. Angers), Audrey
Prusky (Univ. Paris 6, Banyuls sur mer), Roseline Buscail (Univ.
Perpignan), Franck Gilbert (Univ. of Toulouse), Patricia Bonin (Univ.
of Marseille), Mark Trimmer (Univ. London), Alfonso Mucci (McGill
Univ.) and Bjørn Sundby (ISMER & McGill Univ.).
